Nest (2022) traces the historic and contemporary migratory routes of Black bodies, using African vernacular aesthetics, the visual conventions of modern travel, and organic flora from the foothill pine. Nest building, which is considered a key adaptive advantage among birds, is invoked as a metaphor for home and belonging.
